Best Hotel Websites . . .
. . . For booking beach hotels and apartments
Tui – The number one UK tour operator has always been known for good hotels in beach resorts, by booking hotel only with them you can still get access to 24 hour support through their resort team’s holiday helpline. In the case where they have already paid for the accommodation up front you will see they sell it off very cheap, as low as £2 per night for bookings made online.
Alpha Rooms – One of the pioneers of online travel, this website has over 40’000 hotels and apartments on their books and is now incorporating trip advisor reviews. Like Tui you can also choose to build your own holiday by adding flights from low cost or charter airlines.
LowCostHolidays – Formerly known as Lowcostbeds, this is another website serving up a massive range of hotels and apartments for beach holidays. What we like here is an online booking discount and the facility to submit special requests to the hotel when you book.
. . . For booking hotels and aparthotels in big cities
Sletoh – (hotels backwards get it?) A real time saver, this website searches 15 of the most visited hotel booking websites in the UK and lets you compare prices from all of them. You can refine your hotel search by all sorts of criteria including price range, star rating, feature such as “pets allowed” or “fitness room”. You go on to make your booking at the site of your choice without any extra fee so this is normally our starting point when looking for hotels. Some of the sites included in the search are Late Rooms, Expedia and lastminute.com
Lastminute.com – Pretty famous by now, these guys have been busy innovating and promoting online travel since 1998. What you should look out for here are the “secret hotels”, you can make big savings on these. You get told the star rating and the location but not the actual hotel until after you book. The owner of flex holidays usually books these when travelling on business and says “you can’t go wrong”.
Superbreak – An expert on hotel + theatre breaks in London as well as having some great hotel deals in major cities. The hotel reviews at Superbreak deserve a mention – they are only accepted from guests that book through themselves so are more trustworthy. It’s also useful that you can by paypal and if you want to use a credit card there is no charge added for that.
One of the reasons we have chosen not to invest in our own hotel booking software at flex holidays is that there is already a massive number of hotel websites in existence, all reinventing the wheel, all fighting for your custom. We would rather keep our own costs down so we don’t pass anything on to you.
Our independence from any tour operator or hotel group means we are able to offer customers hotel deals from a hand picked selection of the leading hotel websites in the UK.
We only work with hotel and apartment providers that meet our selection criteria. This means hotel websites we work with must have a security policy which protects and encrypts your payment and personal information. We also audit our partners for financial protection and financial strength.
